The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has reduced the price of diesel by KSh5 per litre, while petrol and kerosene prices remain unchanged under the latest monthly fuel price review.
The new prices took effect on August 15, 2026, and will remain in force until September 14, 2026.
In Nairobi, a litre of super petrol will retail at KSh214.03, while diesel will cost KSh217.86 per litre. Kerosene will retail at KSh191.38 per litre.
The latest review means motorists using diesel-powered vehicles will pay less at the pump compared with the previous pricing cycle.

Prices vary across the country depending on transportation and distribution costs.
In Mombasa, petrol will retail at KSh210.87 per litre, diesel at KSh214.58 and kerosene at KSh188.09.
In Nakuru, petrol will cost KSh212.92 per litre, diesel KSh217.27 and kerosene KSh190.81.
In Eldoret, petrol will retail at KSh213.69, diesel at KSh218.09 and kerosene at KSh191.63.
In Kisumu, petrol will cost KSh213.69 per litre, diesel KSh218.08 and kerosene KSh191.63.
Government Fuel Stabilisation Support
The diesel reduction comes amid government intervention in the fuel market.
The government provided KSh938 million in fuel stabilisation support, helping cushion consumers from higher pump prices and enabling EPRA to maintain petrol and kerosene prices while reducing the price of diesel.
The lower diesel price could provide some relief to motorists, transport operators and businesses that rely heavily on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
The latest review will remain in effect for one month, with EPRA expected to announce the next monthly fuel prices in September.
