dani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has been awarded a ₹2,800 crore (approximately Ksh.42 billion or $325 million) power transmission project in Gujarat, India. The initiative is a significant step toward strengthening infrastructure for green hydrogen and ammonia production in Mundra. Project Details Substation Upgrade: The Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation will be enhanced with two high-capacity 765/400kV transformers. Transmission Expansion: A new 765kV double-circuit transmission line, spanning 75 km, will connect the Navinal and Bhuj substations, adding 150 circuit kilometers to AESL's network. Increased Capacity: The project will add 3,000 MVA of transformation capacity, raising AESL's total to 87,186 MVA. Strategic Importance The transmission project, secured through a Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, will be executed over 36 months. PFC Consulting Limited managed the bidding process. This initiative aligns with India's vision to produce 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030, requiring 125 GW of renewable energy. Strengthening transmission infrastructure is critical to preventing project delays and ensuring the country’s clean energy targets are met.
