On March 24, 2025, three individuals accused of murdering Wells Fargo Human Resource Manager Willis Ayieko appeared before Siaya High Court Judge David Kemei for a pre-trial conference. The suspects—Victor Ouma Okoth (alias Sisco), Duncan Ochieng (alias Otuchi), and Samuel Onyango (alias Jaboda)—were arrested in October 2024 and have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

During the session, the defense applied for bail on behalf of the accused. Justice Kemei denied the bail applications for Okoth and Ochieng, ordering their continued detention at Kodiaga Maximum Prison until the trial dates set for May 26 and 27, 2025. The court also directed the transfer of Ochieng from Siaya GK Prison to Kodiaga Maximum Prison in Kisumu County. A ruling on Onyango’s bail application is scheduled for April 8, 2025.

Ayieko’s decomposing body was discovered in a shallow stream on October 23, 2024, three days after he was reported missing in Gem Yala sub-county. The arrests followed intensive investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), which linked the suspects to the crime.

The court’s decisions underscore the seriousness of the charges and the ongoing commitment to ensuring justice for the late Ayieko and his family.
