George Oduor, the long-serving bodyguard and aide to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, has passed away. He died on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Nairobi West Hospital after being hospitalized for two weeks.
Oduor had been a close associate of Raila Odinga since the 1990s, often seen by his side during public engagements. His dedication and professionalism earned him recognition as a trusted member of Odinga’s inner circle.
Several leaders and colleagues have expressed their condolences. Phillip Etale, the Orange Democratic Party’s Communications Director, mourned Oduor, acknowledging his significant impact. Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai also paid tribute, highlighting Oduor’s wise counsel and mentorship.
Oduor’s passing marks the end of an era for Raila Odinga’s team, as he was not only a bodyguard but also a loyal confidant and friend.
