Yvonne Okwara, the Business News Editor at Citizen TV, has been nominated to run for the presidency of the Kenya Editors Guild (KEG). The announcement was made on Monday, April 7, 2025, by Sophia Kaibiria, the Returning Officer. Okwara will be contesting against the incumbent president, Zubeida Kananu. Meanwhile, one candidate was nominated for the vice-president position, Francis Openda, similar to the Print Media Member category (Linda Bach); Online Media (Kenfrey Kiberenge); and Television (Millicent Awuor).
In the Radio category, the nominees are Toepista Nabusoba and Agnes Mwangangi, while Nathan Masambu and Julius Bosire were nominated as Adacemia members.
Three candidates were nominated as trustees: Martin Masai, Ruth Nesoba and Mbugua Ng’ang’a.
