Real Madrid defender Alvaro Carreras will miss Wednesday’s Champions League match against Manchester City after suffering a calf muscle injury.
The Spanish club confirmed the injury in a statement but did not indicate how long the defender will be sidelined.
Real Madrid’s top scorer Kylian Mbappe also did not train with the squad on Monday as he continues to recover from a knee sprain that has troubled him since December.
Mbappe has already missed the club’s last three matches and recently travelled to Paris for medical tests and treatment.
Reports in Spanish media suggest the France captain could target a return in the second leg next week.
Real Madrid are also dealing with injuries to several other key players including Jude Bellingham, Eder Militao, Rodrygo Goes, Dani Ceballos and David Alaba.
