Police in Kasarani Sub-County, Nairobi, have arrested two suspected drug traffickers following a targeted raid in the Marurui area, in an operation aimed at dismantling illegal drug and contraband networks.

According to the National Police Service, officers from Njathaini Police Station acted on intelligence reports indicating suspected drug distribution points within the Marurui Shopping Area in Kasarani Sub-County.

During the operation, officers arrested two suspects and recovered a significant cache of illegal substances and equipment used in packaging and distribution. The recovered items included 1,195 rolls of bhang, 2,001 grams of unprocessed cannabis, and approximately 40 litres of illicit brew. Police also confiscated weighing scales and packaging materials believed to have been used in the trade.

Authorities said the suspects are currently in custody awaiting arraignment as investigations continue.

The National Police Service described the operation as a major disruption to local drug supply chains and reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying crackdowns on narcotics and illicit alcohol across Nairobi and other parts of the country.

The service also urged members of the public to continue providing intelligence to support ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime.

Investigations into the broader network linked to the suspects are ongoing.
