A section of Ford Kenya youth has come out strongly in support of Cabinet Secretary Chris Barasa, condemning recent political attacks against him. The youth leaders, speaking during a press briefing, accused certain politicians of engaging in smear campaigns to undermine Barasa’s efforts in government.
Led by youth leader Brian Wanyama, the group emphasized that Barasa has been instrumental in championing development projects that benefit the people of Western Kenya. “We will not allow leaders to tarnish the name of someone who has tirelessly worked to uplift our region. These attacks are politically motivated and meant to derail progress,” Wanyama stated.
The youth urged political leaders to focus on service delivery instead of engaging in divisive politics. They also warned that any attempts to destabilize Barasa’s position would be met with strong resistance from his supporters.
Their statement comes amid growing tensions within Ford Kenya, with internal wrangles threatening to divide the party. Some members have accused Barasa of sidelining other leaders, claims that his supporters dismiss as baseless.
As the political landscape in Western Kenya continues to shift, Barasa’s growing influence has put him at the center of debate within the party. His supporters maintain that he remains committed to the region’s development and will not be distracted by political attacks.
