National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has reassured Bungoma residents that ongoing development projects will not be disrupted following the sudden death of Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga Malulu. Speaking during a visit to the constituency, Wetang’ula emphasized that the government remains committed to completing all projects initiated under Malulu’s leadership.

Wetang’ula acknowledged the late MP’s contributions to the region, particularly in infrastructure, education, and healthcare. He assured residents that no project would stall due to the leadership gap and that plans were already in place to ensure continuity. “The government has a duty to serve the people regardless of political changes. We will ensure that all projects started under Malulu’s tenure are completed,” he stated.

Local leaders and community members expressed their grief over Malulu’s passing but welcomed Wetang’ula’s reassurance. Many feared that key initiatives, including road construction, school renovations, and water supply projects, might be abandoned. However, Wetang’ula urged them to remain united and support the ongoing development efforts.

As preparations for a by-election begin, the focus remains on maintaining stability and progress in Kabuchai. Wetang’ula encouraged residents to elect a leader who would continue Malulu’s vision for the constituency. In the meantime, county and national government officials will oversee the continuation of all planned projects to ensure that services to the people remain uninterrupted.
