Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has officially announced a Special National Delegates Conference (NDC) for the Jubilee Party, scheduled to take place at the Jockey Club in Nairobi later this month. The announcement was made through a notice dated August 5, 2025, in which Uhuru, who also serves as the party leader, issued a 21-day formal invitation in line with the party’s constitution.

The upcoming delegates meeting is expected to address several key issues. According to the notice, the agenda will include receiving a status report from the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), discussing current party policies, and charting a course for Jubilee’s future. The meeting comes at a crucial time, as the party seeks to reestablish itself as a major political force on the national stage.

This development follows Uhuru’s recent re-engagement in party affairs after months of internal wrangles over party leadership. In a significant move, the former president chaired a virtual NEC meeting, marking his first public involvement with the party since the leadership disputes were resolved. The meeting, described as a review session, focused on internal reforms, structural rebuilding, and broader political strategies.

Pauline Njoroge, the party’s Deputy Secretary General, lauded the meeting as a moment of renewal for the Jubilee Party. She emphasized that the NEC reaffirmed the party’s foundational values and expressed a commitment to defend the interests of ordinary Kenyans. According to her, Jubilee is positioning itself to play a more active role in the country’s political future.

With the special NDC just weeks away, all eyes are on how Jubilee will navigate this new chapter and what strategies will emerge from the meeting to rejuvenate the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
