The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the opening of applications for organizations seeking accreditation as Voter Education Providers, Election Observers, and Media Practitioners ahead of upcoming by-elections and other electoral activities in the 2025/2026 financial year.

In a public notice dated August 6, 2025, the commission urged all interested organizations to submit their applications through the IEBC Accreditation Management System (AMS) at https://ams.iebc.or.ke.

“Applicants are advised to ensure they have a stable internet connection while submitting their details,” the commission stated.

Organizations seeking accreditation as Voter Education Providers are also required to collect a physical Address Authentication form from their respective County Election Manager’s office, have it duly filled, and upload a scanned copy alongside other required documents to the AMS portal.

According to IEBC, accredited organizations will undergo training before commencing their activities and will receive official accreditation certificates, identification badges, and other necessary support materials.

Applications must be submitted on or before Friday, September 5, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.

How to Apply:

  • Visit the IEBC Accreditation Management System (AMS) portal: https://ams.iebc.or.ke
  • Complete the application form online
  • Upload the required documents, including the Address Authentication form (for Voter Education Providers)
  • Submit the application before the deadline

The commission emphasized that the accreditation process aims to ensure transparency, professionalism, and inclusivity in Kenya’s electoral process.
