Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has called on Kenyans to assess leaders based on their track records in delivering development projects rather than relying on political promises. Speaking to over 4,500 women in Mbeere North, Embu County, Kindiki highlighted government initiatives and urged voters to focus on tangible achievements.
During the gathering on Wednesday, the Deputy President cited several ongoing projects in Mbeere North, including road construction, rural electrification, modern market facilities, youth empowerment programs, and agricultural productivity initiatives. He said these projects demonstrate the administration’s commitment to improving lives and supporting local communities.
“The government’s focus is on delivering real services and infrastructure that benefit citizens. People should judge leaders on what they have accomplished, not merely on rhetoric,” Kindiki said.
Kindiki also endorsed Leo Muriuki Muthende as the United Democratic Alliance’s (UDA) candidate for the November 27, 2025 Mbeere North by-election. The parliamentary seat became vacant after former MP Geoffrey Ruku was appointed Cabinet Secretary for Public Service. He encouraged residents to support Muriuki to ensure continuity of development initiatives already underway.
“We have rallied behind Leo because he represents continuity and progress. The people of Mbeere North should unite behind him to ensure ongoing projects are not interrupted,” Kindiki said.
While emphasizing the government’s achievements, the Deputy President criticized opposition parties for what he described as a lack of concrete solutions. He urged them to offer policy alternatives to address the country’s pressing issues, arguing that Kenyans benefit more from action than from political criticism.
At the same time, opposition leaders continue to highlight challenges such as rising living costs, youth unemployment, and economic hardships, arguing that more needs to be done to fulfill government pledges and alleviate citizens’ struggles.
Kindiki also praised women for their vital role in driving development within families and communities. He called on them to actively participate in development programs and political processes, noting that their support is essential for sustainable progress.
