Five suspects have been arrested following a police operation targeting a criminal network accused of terrorising residents in Dandora Phase III through mobile phone snatching, robberies, and the theft of Kenya Power token meters.
According to the National Police Service, officers from Dandora Police Station carried out the intelligence-led operation on Monday, May 26, 2026, as part of an ongoing crackdown on organised criminal gangs operating within Nairobi estates.
Police said the operation was informed by intelligence reports and enhanced surveillance within the area, leading officers to a mobile phone repair shop in Dandora Phase III that is now suspected to have been used as a hideout and distribution centre for stolen property.
During the raid, detectives recovered 21 mobile phones of different makes and models believed to have been stolen from members of the public during robbery and phone-snatching incidents within the estate and surrounding areas.
Officers also recovered 12 Kenya Power token meters suspected to have been illegally removed from residential premises.
The five suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue ahead of their planned arraignment in court.
The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and improving public safety across Nairobi and other parts of the country.
Police have also urged members of the public to continue working closely with security agencies by sharing information through the nearest police station, emergency numbers 999 and 911, or the #FichuaKwaDCI toll-free line 0800 722 203 and WhatsApp number 0709 570 000.
