English giants Chelsea FC have already raked in an estimated €60 million (KSh 10.5 billion) in participation and prize money after reaching the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, currently underway in New York, USA.

The London club, now preparing for tonight’s much-anticipated final clash against Brazilian champions Fluminense, stand to earn an additional €22 million (KSh 3.85 billion) should they lift the prestigious trophy.

The total prize pool for the Club World Cup, revamped and expanded in its new format, offers significant financial rewards for progressing teams. Chelsea’s success in the competition — which brings together the best clubs from every continent — is seen not only as a sporting milestone but a major commercial win.

The Blues reached the final after a dominant 3-1 victory over CF Monterrey of Mexico, while Fluminense edged out Al Ahly of Egypt in a tense semi-final clash.

A win tonight would push Chelsea’s total earnings from the tournament to €82 million (approximately KSh 14.35 billion) — a major financial boost ahead of the upcoming Premier League season. This comes at a time when the club has been closely scrutinized for breaching financial fair play (FFP) rules due to massive spending in recent transfer windows.

Manager Enzo Maresca, who took over from Mauricio Pochettino last month, praised his side’s focus and hunger, saying the final provides “a chance to make history and set the tone for the new era.”

The match, scheduled to kick off at 10:00 PM (Kenyan time), will be played at MetLife Stadium in New York, with global football fans eagerly awaiting a Europe vs South America showdown.

Should Chelsea defeat Fluminense, it will mark their second FIFA Club World Cup title, having won their first in 2021 under former manager Thomas Tuchel.
